My niece, Allison, just found out that she made the Level 5 team at her gym. I'm so excited for her. That's the good news. The bad news is that her father, my brother-in-law, is forcing her to quit gymnastics at the end of this term because he hates sports and thinks she spends too much time at the gym. Needless to say, she's broken-hearted. *soooo angry with him* I pointed out to my sis that if things become bad enough that she has to leave him -- which is a very real possibility within the next several months -- Allison could continue to do gymnastics because he won't have custody and won't have a say in the matter any more. (well, they'll have joint custody, I'm sure, but Allison will spend most of her time with my sis). That cheered her up a bit about the possibility of having to leave him, gave her a reason not to find it quite as awful.

In other gymnastics news, my Michigan Wolverines women's gym. team made it to Nationals. Only twelve teams make nationals. However, yesterday, in the first round, they were eliminated. *sob* They very rarely fail to make the final six, so I'm sure they're all destroyed. It's a fair system, a random draw, but sometimes it has horrible results. This year is one of those cases. Twelve teams make the final and by random draw are placed in two semi-finals of six teams each. The top three teams in each semi-final go on to the finals. Invariably, four of the best teams are drawn to compete in one of the semi-finals, while only two of the best teams are drawn to compete in the other. As a result, one of the lesser teams makes the finals, and one of the best teams does not. This year, the team that was eliminated was Michigan. *sigh*

On the bright side, Mark is now on either three, or four -- I think four -- court-appointed lists now. He just found out about the fourth one yesterday. And he's had three cases go to court already, and gotten charges dismissed in two of the three and a plea-bargain for his client in the third. *so proud* I think this lawfirm might actually do alright after all. It's still nowhere near making money or even breaking even, but it's a healthy start. And he has his first adoption case, the area he wants to specialize in.

That's all the news that's fit to print, so I'm off to do some work. I have a meeting this morning at 9am, then Def Lep. tickets for the Detroit show go on sale at 10am (my source of information who told me the Detroit show sold out within minutes was dead wrong -- tickets are only going on sale today. Yay!), so I may be slow in getting online today. But I'll be around as soon as I can. I've a muse who needs to sort matters out. :D

Happy Friday to everybody!

I got tickets to see Def Leppard! Yay! They're terrible tickets, 40 rows back, although centerstage. But at least I got tickets. And they were only $65 per ticket. Yay! I will still see if I can find any closer seats on ebay for a reasonable price, closer to the date, but at least we're in the venue now. *phew*
